About this artwork
This oil painting is based on a visit to Burghead, Scotland, the country where I lived for five years. With this painting, I wanted to illustrate the contrast between something steady and still, on the one hand, and something wild, on the other hand. Making this work was an emotional rollercoaster for me as well, as this tension reverberated with how I was experiencing my own world.
