About this artwork
Diptych painting in oil and glaze on metal sheets. In this work, I wanted to capture the vibrant tension between chaos and harmony through warm colors and fluid forms. Each oil brushstroke expresses an intense, almost volcanic emotion, symbolizing raw energy ready to explode. The painting concludes with a touch that is both symbolic and abstract, which is also my signature as a painter: the red stain for the organic, the gold for the lushness of… nature, and the curved black line for the movement to come. The edge of the stretcher, thicker than usual, is painted because I prefer a painting hung unframed or in a floater frame.
My work celebrates animals, from the birds in our gardens to the wild beasts of our dreams. Through them, I explore two facets of beauty: a poetic realism and a contemporary symbolism. The red stain and the gold dots, present in each of my paintings, serve as their markers. The former evokes the organic aspect of all living beings; the latter symbolize the lushness of nature. The pendulum, for its part, introduces movement. I grew up among artists, restorers and craftsmen. It was with them that I learned to observe, but also in solitude. One day, I left the urban bustle for the solitude of the limestone plateau. There, with my dogs as my only companions, I found my true language. Nature taught me to see what is essential. Nourished by the spirit of Asian art and its search for balance, I seek above all to create works where strength, harmony and the presence of life interact.
