About this artwork
In my work, I have tried to capture the vibrant and tumultuous essence of the border between land and sea. Using oil and pigments, I expressed my passion for movement and color, typical of the expressionist style. The painting depicts a lively scene of boats dancing on the water, under a changing sky, which invokes a feeling of freedom and a continuous search for balance. This art would bring energy and a touch of deep contemplation to any home environment.
« I am a painter in the sense that nothing separates me from being a shape, a color, a clean surface... »
Chiara Abbaticchio is an exciting Italian painter who has exhibited her work nationally. Constantly searching for unity between line and colour, she composes works that balance form and material with both vibrancy and harmony. Her themes include female subjects that appear soft and independent, and urban landscapes such as New York's iconic yellow taxis and and scenes of everyday life. The co-existence of these themes presents an overall image of a modern society - ours - that is defined by continuous movement between individuals and environments.
