Most of the trees had been damaged by wind; in a single blow, a tornado had cut huge swathes through perfectly healthy old oaks. With a crash, the trees splintered and snapped from the roots that had nourished them for years. Leaves, branches, and feathers swirled through the air at dizzying heights before gently landing back on the forest floor. One could still glimpse their former… beauty, and the collage of natural materials illustrated just how vital nature is to us.
