About this artwork
Andilly sur mer, acrylic on canvas, September/October 2020. Technically, this painting is done on a canvas, a sheet of paper is mounted on the canvas, and coated with three layers of gesso, and finely sanded before starting work. This image is a delirium by association of images, which I undertook in a very surrealist way. The view of Paris, seen from the Town Hall of Andilly, a small town in the Val d'Oise, perched on the hill of Montmorency is… the genesis of this image. I added a sky, taken in photo, near Royan, one morning returning from vacation, and the waves, in the basin, by deconstructing it. I did this work for two months in a row, with a magnifying glass, looking, in certain details of the landscape of realism, we find here and there precise details of places and monuments, but a large part of improvisation corresponds to my method of realization. The sphere in the sky, which is found in many of my paintings, symbolizes the spirit for me.
Daniel Olivier, a painter and draftsman trained from childhood, excels in the mastery of oil painting, where he experiments with mixtures of rare oils and complex glazes. He blends surrealism, symbolism, and hyperrealism, integrating the harmony of regulating lines and the golden ratio into each composition. His work reveals the poetic and energetic power of nature, inviting the viewer to profound contemplation, a search for beauty, meaning, and a sincere and luminous connection. www.danielolivierpeintre.fr Member of ADAGP, the Taylor Foundation, Mondial Art Academia, the Maxi-realists group of Dan Jacobson at Comparaison, the Circle of European Artists, Member of the Salon d'Automne and of French Artists. He also regularly works on commission.
