About this artwork
This painting, the first in the series Roots in Water (2021), is part of a reflection on my siblings. From photos of bodies of water sent by each of them, I first painted thinking about them, then refocusing on my own perspective.
The work explores two themes: empathy — inspired by the thought of Edith Stein — and water as a place of renewal and shared responsibility.
