"Endurance” is a deeply emotional meditation by Egidijus Dapšas on the human ability to remain standing despite both inner and outer storms. The composition is permeated with tension and strength — as if a figure, form, or core of energy were striving to stay unmoved within a chaotic, ever-shifting background.
Dynamic, directional brushstrokes create a sense of struggle and movement, while contrasting color fields evoke forces that simultaneously… erode and fortify. The atmosphere of the work speaks of trials and the inner nucleus that reveals itself through them — the part that endures when everything around begins to crumble or fade.
“Endurance” invites the viewer to reflect on their own resilience, their ability to regenerate and rise again, even when circumstances seem unfavorable. It is a painting about the quiet yet unbreakable instinct to survive.

Egidijus Dapsas, a Kaunas Art School graduate, majored in artistic leather and has background in blacksmithing and mural painting. His art is expressive, using abstraction, figuration, and vibrant colors paired with a variety of textures and forms, achieved through layering of paint. In exploring the fragility of existence and the tension between chaos and harmony, he strives to evoke a spectrum of feelings, reflections of the viewer's own world.
