About this artwork
My artwork is timely with the existence of water, as is my life. I first learned to swim with my father, who taught me the basics, at a beautiful lake in Honey Lake, Wisconsin. My father worked long hours providing for the family, so I came to cherish these special moments in the water with him.
Later on, when I first met my husband of 55 years, I got the name “water woman,” and he became “land man.” In artwork, my earliest memory of making a wave… was about 50 years ago in a collagraph print. Waves have surfaced again in my work for many years since.

Her work delves into themes of mortality, nature, and interconnectedness, inviting viewers to lose themselves in exuberance, wonder, and the vibrant depth of existence.
