About this artwork
I've always been fascinated by eyes; the first thing that strikes me in a woman is her gaze. The eyes are the window to the soul. Who among you can hold a woman's gaze for long?
I hope these eyes, this magical gaze, strike you. I often paint and photograph women. Mine is a study of the female body, and I don't just focus on the body, but try to penetrate its soul, to understand its dreams, its fantasies, through its eyes.
In this collection, I… intend to tackle the enigma of one's own image, an identity that for many appears ambiguous, shadowed, and counterfeit. Indeed, the faces portrayed display expressions—some thoughtful, others absent—dark, fascinating, penetrating, drawn together by the common need to "be" and not to "appear." The search for one's own identity, which leads to true self-knowledge. The awareness that in life everything is appearance.
« A labyrinth of real and surreal subjects where seduction is the red thread that binds and the dream is the cosmic space in which to take refuge and live. »
