This painting explores the quiet atmosphere of early morning mist, a moment where night begins to dissolve into day. There is a sense of stillness and subtle romanticism in this time, a calm that exists before the world fully wakes.
The palette is deliberately muted, with soft greys, blues, and pinks dominating the surface. The deepest tone sits within the green of the hedge, anchoring the composition, while the mist obscures trees, hills, and edges,… leaving only fragments of the landscape visible.
