About this artwork
This mixed-media acrylic painting is inspired by my impressions of a national park – from the view into the dense undergrowth, the ground covered with needles, leaves and organic structures that overlap and merge together.
I work with acrylic paints and intense oil pastels to create a multi-layered, almost tactile surface. Circular movements, rhythmic repetitions, and gestural lines coalesce into abstract, flower-like forms that hover between floral… memory and imagined plant life. The circles and overlays reflect the capture of diverse textures—from soft petals to the rough, earthy structures of the forest floor.
The vibrant shades of blue, pink, green, and earth create depth and dynamism, inviting the viewer to explore the image like a landscape.
