About this artwork
Wolfrat's 8 x 4.50 meter monumental work "MARIPOSA" shows an artist who knows how to combine inspiration and discipline, passion and feeling - without sacrificing energy and strength. The work, composed of 48 double stretcher frames, for which the artist needed more than a year, has a tendency towards photorealism. At the same time, the picture made with acrylic paint and sand reflects the positive attitude towards life of the artist. Color contrasts… determine the work, tug at the motifs, create that typical tension on which Wolfrat's work thrives. They seem almost overwhelming, almost musical, sometimes powerful, sometimes ecstatic, sometimes playful and are usually surrounded by a sunny sense of humor.

« My work on canvas should arouse feelings in the viewer. Then my work has achieved its goal. »
