About this artwork
The work explores music in an abstract form of expression, while simultaneously continuing the artist's characteristic style. Lines and spatial dimensions are central design elements.
The piano, on which the composition focuses, is drawn with only one continuous line – a deliberately chosen reduction that emphasizes the clarity and rigor of the form.
The motifs unfold on a multi-layered acrylic background, which is then further developed with… oil paint. The contrast between the two materials, which differ in gloss and surface effect, creates a lively tension that opens up new spatial depth. The simple depiction of the piano reinforces this effect and draws the eye to the composition as a whole.
