About this artwork
On a small island, washed by azure waves, its own leisurely life unfolds: nimble crabs scurry along the warm sand, and nearby, like a precious stone, a starfish shines. In the distance, on the horizon, an endless row of snow-white yachts line up, their sails seeming like a mirage against the endless blue. The picture invites you to think about contrasts: about the eternal peace of wild nature and the rapid movement of the human world.

I, Galyna Antonenko, am an architect by training.
I studied painting for six years in the private studio of the renowned Ukrainian artist V. Sosna. I use primarily bright acrylic paints in my works.
My art is an attempt to stop time.
When I paint women's portraits, it's as if I whisper to them: "Stop, moment—you are so beautiful!"
I am inspired by those brief, almost imperceptible moments when a person becomes truly visible—without posing, without protection, simply themselves.
The women in my paintings are not models, but reflections of inner strength, vulnerability, and beauty in simplicity.
I seek in every face that facet of light where life is hidden.
Children's portraits occupy a special place in my work. Adults strive to appear, while children strive simply to feel. And I strive to capture this pure feeling: delight, surprise, sadness, joy—everything that makes us alive. My paintings are more than just images. It is a dialogue with the moment.
