the acropolis is actually the name of the castle hill belonging to an ancient greek city. the Athenian acropolis is probably the best-known example of an acropolis, which is why the entire site is often referred to simply as the acropolis for the sake of simplicity. Gerlinde Kosina is a committed Austrian painter whose works have featured in exhibitions and publications in Germany, Italy, Austria and the US. With oil painting as her preferred technique, she starts with chaotic stains and strokes that she then polishes with brushes, spatulas and her hands to arrive at a harmonious place.
