The artwork shows the inner space which is inside of us. Full, empty and half-empty spaces are obtained through the unveawing technique. The colors that are painted on the reverse of the canvas are reflected on the white wall in iridescent shades that change as the light changes. In creating this piece, I channelled a meditative state, unweaving cotton with a deliberate, yet introspective touch. The abstract array of soft hues intersecting sporadically,… introduces a calming, yet dynamic energy. This textile invites the viewer to ponder the delicate balance of structure and fluidity, resonating with the warmth and complexity of our own internal landscapes. It's designed to imbue any space with a sense of peace and introspective depth.
« Art is a way to express oneself in joy and freedom, as well as the love for oneself and for others. »
Giustino Caposciutti is an award-winning painter, textile artist, and printmaker based in Italy whose works have been exhibited nationally, as well as in Belgium, Switzerland, Australia, and France. He describes his diverse compositions as representing messages of hope. Caposciutti's artistic practice is marked by discovery through the materials he employs. For him, after having "given birth" to a piece, it assumes the property of change, just as in the natural environment.
