About this artwork
I like to go to the coast in the morning to experience the dawn over the vastness of the sea. I am usually alone on the beach; everything seems untouched and, on windless days, absolutely peaceful. I follow this mood and let what I experience affect me. The light is usually gentle and only slowly do stronger colors and shapes develop. I experience the landscape structures, still softly outlined by the haze, and the gentle pastel tones of the dawn…
intensely and in a happy mood. The day's work can begin.
