About this artwork

Soft Shower of Light is a tall, vertical blue abstract painting with shades of cool and warm teal, tourquoise, ultramarine and phalo blue. There is a soft central light which glows from behind the rising particles of blue. The technique uses layers of liquid paint, which are dried, then washed away giving a natural patina surface. The canvas has a light texture which adds a sensual tactility. Edges are left painted revealing the creative process.… The work can be hung with or without a fram. The painting is signed on the back. This painting brings a gentle, peaceful energy that transforms any space into a serene sanctuary.

Heidi Thompson is an experienced Canadian painter who has exhibited her work in the US, Canada and Switzerland. She originally started out as a figurative painter striving to express the human condition, but soon decided to move away from the darkness and suffering she found herself portraying to a colorful abstract style full of hope, light and beauty. Today, she creates a bold and colorful 'Multicolours' series, as well as minimalist works that reflect the style of 'Monochrome Energy Fields.'
