About this artwork
THE SECOND PART:
This is the second painting of the opportunity project. It also contains stories and conditions of people. All people are reaching out, wanting, aspiring, asking and desiring provisions despite their different financial levels. This is evident from the way each arm is dressed: the rich, the middle class, the destitute and the miserable. They are all asking hard, and this is the state of people in this world. The painting contains… waterfalls that symbolize the challenges and surprises of worldly events. When you zoom in on the waterfalls, you see gestures and bodies of people involved in the wave of life. At the top of the painting, you see light and illumination, and by that I mean God’s relief and mercy that always shelters us in God’s shadow despite all the despair, evil, fatigue, hardship or obstacles in life. We must be optimistic about God’s generous face and hope for His endless mercies. And with a slide, the gift of heaven reaches everyone, the poor, the rich,
Hend Al-Batesh is an Egyptian contemporary artist whose work blends abstraction and expressionism, creating vibrant pieces that pulse with energy and emotion. Using brushes, knives, and even her hands, she embraces spontaneity and intuition, allowing each canvas to evolve organically through layers of texture and color. Her art reflects a deep belief in creativity as a force for healing and transformation. Inspired by humanity, nature, and the cosmos, Hend’s work resonates with resilience, rhythm, and life. Every mark becomes more than aesthetic, it is an offering of hope, love, and positive change. For her, the process is as vital as the outcome, balancing control and chance to create works that transcend words, embodying emotion, energy, and universal connection.
