About this artwork
Often our dreams insist on opening paths of reflection in our minds. Here, this is the boundary between the living and the inert. Ordinary objects, perhaps transformed into things, yet essential: "Come, let's sit down and talk…".
Molière spoke of the vehicles of conversation. And those of Ionesco in one of his theaters remained empty.
Here, the landscape juxtaposes two diametrically opposed worlds, separated by a low wall of gray stones that… seems to form a natural barrier stretching almost to the horizon. To the right, dense, verdant vegetation is dotted with brightly colored flowers. Hidden behind this wall is a magnificent meadow.
On the left, in a desert-like and arid atmosphere, where are chairs piled up that have become obsolete? Useless? Rubble? The contrast is disturbing, raising almost violent questions.
