About this artwork
In diesem Aquarell wird die Strenge geometrischer Formen in Frage gestellt. Der Künstler spielt mit Emotionen und Intuition, während das zentrale Quadrat Ordnung und Reflektion verkörpert. Das schwarze Quadrat wurde von Kasimir Malewitsch, El Lissitzky und… anderen Künstlern des russischen Konstruktvismus in den zwanziger Jahren des vorigen Jahrhunderts in die Kunst eingeführt. Klaus Feuchtinger untersucht in seiner Aquarellserie die farbigen Möglichkeiten und variiert zudem die reine geometrische Konstruktion.

Klaus Feuchtinger is an established German painter with a strong love for France and Italy. His predominantly abstract works are characterized by a dense color palette. Feuchtinger creates his painterly messages with broad and sweeping brushstrokes. But he also likes to take "excursions" into a representational style of painting, which also comes close to surrealism. He sees his paintings as "inventions" whose exploration and interpretation he likes to leave to the viewers of his paintings.
