About this artwork
This work is part of the "Little Things" series, and is actually the first fruit of this thought, which at the time was purely instinctive and which is now almost an obsession. I have a strong emotional connection to it because it depicts my daughter intently and consciously playing with confetti for the first time. For me, it's an almost cathartic moment, the truest representation of the little things: pure joy, without any ifs or buts, enjoyment… of the moment without ulterior motives, without anxiety, without negativity. These fade into the background, barely visible in the grayness, which actually serves to further enhance the pink of my beautiful daughter's complexion and dress.
Luisa Sodano is a figurative and symbolist artist with a background in art history. She uses a combination of techniques, such as monochrome acrylic, pastel, oil, and gold leaf to create layered works. Her works reveal a desire for serenity and a deep reflection on nature, enjoying the beauty of small things and lamenting its destruction.
