About this artwork
This work represents a mischievousness, because I am fascinated by how in childhood, we go from total drama to solving our little "tragedies" in just a few minutes; we are practical, simple, and there are no grudges, the important thing is to leave the problem behind to return to playing as soon as possible.
It's not a problem if your brother puts his working toy car on your hair and the wheels get so tangled that your mother has to cut off large… clumps of hair to free the toy.
The aesthetic of the work is based on the protagonist of the series, Punky Brewster.
Luz de la Calle is a Spanish artist trained in illustration and specializing in airbrush painting, with a solid career in Valladolid and international experience. She uses airbrushing to create delicate gradients, fusing pop surrealism with touches of kitsch, imbued with sweetness, elegance, and original motifs, where female figures and large-eyed animals predominate. Her works convey a deep emotional connection, addressing feelings, nostalgia, and social issues, always accompanied by humor and authenticity, inviting reflection and empathy.
