About this artwork
This London experience captures such an iconic image of the streets of London, which is a telephone booth. Being this my first trip to London it was quite surreal seeing one of these with my own eyes. The brought pop of red is so eye catching and really adds such a beauty to a simple street scene. My sister Margaret, cousin Polly, and I even had the opportunity to explore this breathtaking city together, which I will never forget and forever hold… in my heart. This drawing is the perfect window to take you right into the heart of a London city street, while hanging in your home.
A graduate of West Virginia University, Maria Deely masterfully employs color pencils to create stunning photorealistic drawings. Her style encapsulates an appreciation of the world around her, reflecting intimate, immersive experiences of different cultures and landscapes. Deely's pieces convey a profound sense of stillness, urging viewers to bask in the evoked warmth, beauty and intricate diversity of our world despite her battle with chronic illness.
