About this artwork
My artworks are created intuitively, spontaneously. Color and structure follow their own rhythm.
The image developed layer by layer until it became coherent.
I work primarily with acrylic on canvas, sometimes supplemented by small basalt stones.
Metallic tones like copper, gold, and silver meet bright neon accents, changing their effect depending on the context.
depending on the light and viewing angle.
For Maria Weigt, painting is a continuous dialogue with the present moment. Her works spring from pure intuition and a deep trust in the creative flow. The artist understands the canvas as a space of absolute freedom, in which every movement is guided by the rhythm of the "now."
In this process, color, structure, and material find an organic harmony. The artist follows an inner impulse that directly speaks to the senses. Her works are invitations to feel. They are echoes of the soul—sometimes vibrant and full of energy, sometimes characterized by meditative stillness. Maria Weigt creates retreats for the present: spaces to breathe, to pause, and to rediscover one's own rhythm within the multifaceted compositions.
