About this artwork
In September 2024 I took a trip to southern Burgundy. I really liked this region and I captured some landscapes on the spot. The Doyenné des Moines de Mazille is a former dependency of the Benedictines of the Abbey of Cluny. Perched on a rocky spur, its majestic buildings dominate the town, including the Saint Blaise chapel dating from the 13th century.
In this work, I have tried to capture the living essence of Burgundy, embodied by a vibrant pastoral… landscape, the nuances of the turbulent sky and the nourishing earth that have spoken of tranquility and abundance for millennia. Each brushstroke is a tribute to the serenity of the fields, animated by the peaceful cattle, suggesting an unbreakable connection with nature. This atmosphere of calm and timeless beauty brings a sense of tranquility.
« I would like to paint the essence of life, that which generates enthusiasm. »
