About this artwork
In this oil painting, I sought to capture the lightness and liveliness of the sea with fresh colors and rapid brushstrokes. The contrast between the imposing rocks and the flowing water expresses a dynamic balance, an invitation to feel the sea breeze and the peace it conveys. Technically, I construct images through layers of color and textured brushstrokes, alternating dense passages with more open and evocative areas to create depth and movement. I combine live observation with photographic references and memory, allowing compositional cropping and foreshortening to produce immediacy.
