About this artwork
Stargazer grew out of my fascination with how ancient cultures looked to the sky not simply to observe it, but to organize meaning. The circular structure and twelve symbolic elements echo systems like the Mayan calendar—not as a literal reference, but as a framework for marking cycles, orientation, and inquiry. Each symbol is personal rather than historical, forming a private language that reflects my own attempt to understand structure within the…

The work is less about astronomy than about the human impulse to project meaning outward in order to better locate ourselves inward. By looking to the stars, we’ve long tried to make sense of time, purpose, and existence. Stargazer sits in that space between observation and interpretation, where curiosity, belief, and self-reflection quietly overlap.
