In this vibrant pastels work, I explore the mesmerizing textures and iridescent colors of a metallic beetle. The piece focuses on the symmetry and intricate structural details of the insect, using a rich palette of electric blues and emerald greens to mimic the reflective quality of its natural armor.
The soft, blendable nature of the oil pastels allowed me to create smooth color transitions while maintaining a grainy, organic depth. This work is… a celebration of the hidden, jewel-like beauty found in the insect world, reimagined through a bold, contemporary lens.
