About this artwork
Here I depict a human heart, exposed, almost vulnerable, suspended as if between two states. I visually fragment it, covering it with graffiti, traces, and colorful scars. Each motif tells a story, a moment shared with the deceased. Nothing is erased; everything remains inscribed in the very substance of the heart.
I add bandages, marks, drips, like signs of injury but also of healing. The heart is not destroyed; it is rebuilding itself. It still… carries the pain, but it continues to beat.
Backlighting is essential: a soft, almost discreet light emanates from within. It symbolizes hope, the enduring bond, life continuing despite absence. I want to show that grief doesn't extinguish, it transforms.
