About this artwork
This work is a sequel to Álamo I, reimagining the composition so that the poplar tree now recedes into the background, mirrored by a phone mast on the left. The juxtaposition subtly contrasts the organic and the manmade—two vertical forms rising in quiet dialogue against a luminous sky. where these trees are often planted to shelter alfalfa and other crops from the fierce Pampero winds. To me, the álamo is more than just a tree; it’s a familiar landmark and a silent witness to the enduring rhythms of rural life.
