About this artwork
Making original drawings from beached seaweed, collected from the West Coast of Scotland, I began to wonder how long their journey through the oceans had been, how many miles they had drifted on the current. I think of these algae as integral to the whole eco-system of the planet, from sea grass to kelp, absorbing carbon and giving out nutrition.
