About this artwork
Rokoko is one of my favorite periods and it started when I went to Royal Danish Academy in Copenhagen. Bored by minimalism and pattern with I had worked with, suddenly the switch was in to Rokoko through Manet! His figures made me go back in history and develop an interest in the relaxed position of the figure. Late seventies, after working with tailors and fixing parties in Stockholm, this position came to mind when I started drawing on the canvas.… For me she developed a relaxed but not bored style with perhaps a Martini in her hand on her way to a show, opening or a party. Everything that is necessary in life except working in the studio

Thomas Holm, a dedicated painter with a fashion background and classical art training from Copenhagen, explores a rich tapestry of themes inspired by both minimalism and the spontaneous pursuit of his artistic desires. He employs traditional techniques, such as layered egg tempera and glazes, striving to escape photographic representation in favor of unique, atmospheric depth. Holm’s artworks radiate a sense of discovery and silent contemplation, inviting viewers into moments both new and deeply human.
