About this artwork
This 60 cm x 60 cm piece is part of the "on stage" series. This time, I wanted to create a high-contrast image using abstract forms and a color palette reduced to black, red, and gray, inviting the viewer to reflect and offer their own personal interpretation. The edges of the piece are painted, and it is ready to hang.
Tom Schmid is a German artist who has been living and working in Thailand for some time. He is a multifaceted artist who has found the perfect medium for his artistic expression in acrylic paints. He experiments passionately, creating textures by applying and removing multiple layers of paint, and enjoys creating the impression of patina on his works to capture the beauty of the past. Many of his paintings, created during his time in Italy, reflect the colors and light of the South. His abstract paintings are inspired, among other things, by his passion for photography, and he uses many of his photographs as templates to create abstract images, which can be understood as an intense dialogue between the two media. Emotions, passion, and experience are palpable in each of his stories, which the paintings want to tell and invite the viewer to engage with.
