The Domba Dance (or Python Dance) is a sacred, traditional initiation dance performed by young Venda women in Limpopo, South Africa, marking their transition into adulthood, marriage, and fertility. Dancers move in a single-file, winding, fluid motion that mimics a python—a symbol of fertility and water—often accompanied by drums and singing.
