About this artwork
Number 3 of the garden series.
The artist draws inspiration from nature, which is a great source for her to return to happiness and love of life.
This is easily seen in the large painting, which consists of several layers of flowing acrylic paint and shimmering metal colors as a background and then accentuated by energetic strokes of heavy acrylic paint.
The process takes a long time, as several layers are dried and then applied layer by… layer until the artist is satisfied. She works with her whole body and wears the creamy acrylic paints with her hands on the canvas. In doing so she places marks and scratches to create tension and to connect all parts of the painting.
There is a perfect harmony between the translucent background and the foreground full of color and energy.
« Painting is my freedom, my passion, my love, my life. »
Ute Bivona is an experienced German painter who has exhibited her work nationally and internationally. As a child, she often felt abandoned and alone and fled into the magical world of colors, painting, drawing and reading to feel better. Through her lively abstract compositions, she tries to express her moods, thoughts, fears, hopes, sadness and joy and to take the viewer into her joyful, peaceful and, above all, colorful world.
