About this artwork
In the portrait "She was here" there is a female figure, as if cut out of fragments of memory or an old photograph, in which the details have been erased over time. The facial features are sharp, but partially fragmentary. The gaze is focused, almost intently, and at the same time impersonal, as if it is an image that has already been partially lost. The whole figure is made up of brushstrokes, like a memory pieced together.
The colour scheme is… delicate: muted mint, grey-blue, flesh, pink, sand lightly lemon shades.
The background is abstract, as if space is timeless. The lines and shadows blur, enhancing the feeling of "erasing" the image.
