About this artwork
This view comes from College Lake near Tring, where the path runs between brambles and grasses with the old fence keeping pace beside it. The mix of wild growth and careful management gives the reserve its particular character.
What stayed with me that day were the clouds. They moved quickly, building and breaking apart, and the light kept shifting across the ground. I painted the scene for that contrast between the quiet path and the restless sky,… a simple moment from a familiar place, held for a second before it changed again.
