This painting explores the contradiction between how people describe themselves and how they actually behave.
Often, when a person’s words do not match their actions, when their beliefs constantly shift or contradict each other, the explanation sounds simple: “I’m just a complex personality.”
But complexity is not always depth.
In this work, the goat becomes a metaphor for stubbornness and the inability to reflect on oneself. The animal’s calm… yet ambiguous expression hints at a quiet confidence in its own righteousness. The bright red background intensifies the emotional tension, while loose, expressive brushstrokes create a sense of inner fragmentation.
“Complex Personality” is a slightly ironic reflection on human self-justification — on the way we sometimes hide confusion, inconsistency, or emotional immaturity behind the idea of being “complicated.”
