« Art is my happiness and my footing. It is my compass that travels with me through life, daring me to take chances, to risk failure and to feed my soul. »
Jan Weiss is an American artist who creates a wide range of works, including abstract landscapes, modern designs and works with a clear activist influence. Working principally in acrylics, Weiss starts a painting with an idea, and sometimes a drawing, but more often than not the painting will end up looking completely different from how she first imagined it. In this exploratory approach, Weiss’s paintings develop a life of their own and a distinctive free and uplifting quality.
