Jenny McCarty is a self-taught British abstract painter based in Brighton, working primarily with acrylic mixed media on canvas, drawing deeply from her background as a published author. She creates rich, sculptural surfaces using layers of moulding paste, wallpaper paste, gold leaf, metallic pigments and gestural mark-making—her techniques evoke tactile depth and atmospheric intensity. Through raw yet luminous compositions, she beautifully explores themes of decay, transcendence, and emotional transformation, inviting viewers to experience complexity and resonance far beyond mere observation. Her work radiates an emotional frequency, offering permission to feel and immerse, leaving lasting impact on those who encounter it.
