Karen Coates is an experienced artist based in the United States whose paintings have been exhibited nationally and in Italy. In addition, her art has been featured in publications such as HOW Magazine. Coates refers to her multi-layered technique as "StrataLIfe", as it investigates the vast layers of experiences that we carry around. Through different shades of colors, textures, reflections, and movement, she invites viewers to reflect upon themselves, as if looking into the mirror of one's soul.

Karen is a contemporary painter blending bold color, symbolism, and storytelling. Her art explores transformation, resilience, and hope- drawing from personal journeys and universal dreams. Each piece is an invitation to find beauty and courage in the face of challenge. Her art is instantly recognizable for its bold, saturated colors and dynamic brushwork, often featuring female figures, mythic creatures, and natural motifs like sunflowers, koi, and butterflies.
