Melanie Meyer, a self-taught artist, dedicates her work to the intensive exploration of human experience. Her sculptures and paintings are an expression of an emotional journey and focus particularly on the issue of sexual violence against children. Her art gives a voice to those affected worldwide, breaks taboos, demands justice, and serves as a testament to suffering and resilience. Driven by the search for humanity and the exploration of what it means to be human, she creates multifaceted art that touches the heart and provokes thought. She sees her works as powerful instruments for bringing light into an often dark world and reminding us of the inalienability of our humanity. With the exhibition "Because what must not be, cannot be," she creates a memorial dedicated to the victims of sexual violence.
