Natalia Rosenbaum

Natalia Rozenbaum was born in 1960 in Horlivka, Donetsk Region, USSR, and lived in Leningrad–St. Petersburg from the age of sixteen until 2022, when she repatriated to Israel.

Her background includes studies at the Faculty of Physics and Mechanics at the Polytechnic Institute, an art studio in St. Petersburg, and copying Old Masters in museums around the world. A love of canon and inquiry brought her into contemporary art.

For many years, her research has revolved around the questions: Who am I? What place do I occupy, and where? This inquiry gradually expanded her media from painting to objects, textiles, writing, and animation.

Modeling her inner world and its interaction with the external world, observing the emergence of inner characters and their communications, continually generates new questions. The search for answers generates art.

Earlier works may be signed Natasha or Natalia Rosenbaum; since 2022, she primarily uses Natalia Rozenbaum.
