About this artwork
I live Nature, I dream it and I paint it and I am happy with it and for it... For all impressionists it is a central theme in our work. We went outdoors to paint directly from the landscape. This approach allows us to observe and capture the subtle changes in light and color as the day goes by.
Water, gardens, fields and skies become, for me, the protagonists of many of my works. I live them with excessive passion, but I am happy in the middle of… my landscapes, prioritizing subjective impression and sensory experience over detailed precision.
The techniques used include loose brushstrokes, optical color mixtures and a preference for some specific colors.
Through my love for nature and light, I try to leave a lasting mark on the world of Contemporary Art.
Ángel Alcalde's artistic career began in Madrid in the late 1970s, in the workshops of hand-painted film posters, where he shared a creative space with Antonio López, a decisive experience in shaping his artistic vision. Later, his interests expanded to include journalism, and in the 1990s, he joined the University of Castilla-La Mancha as Chief of Staff to the Rector, contributing to its institutional development. In 2010, he definitively returned to painting with a mature style, where Impressionism and Expressionism converge through a bold use of color, light, and texture.
