The work is inspired by nature, made of white porcelain and colored porcelain.
In it, I discuss the process of transformation of life forms, passing from inanimate matter into a delicate and ephemeral creation, symbolized by minimalist flowers. In the formal layer, I am interested in the combination of raw, massive porcelain with delicate, semi-transparent, colored flesh-colored pink.
The concept of this work also fits into the general cycle of… nature, which is very close to me. Life arises from inanimate matter, exists in biological form, and finally returns to nature in inanimate form as a combination of elements, which will serve others to exist in their biological form.
Born in Poland, Agnieszka Borkowsska is a ceramic artist with an extensive grounding in painting. Her pieces transgress classifications, melding the warmth of ceramics with the deliberate strokes of painting, presented often as intriguing bas-reliefs. Borkowska's work is an autobiographical exploration through parallel worlds – those concealed within her and the majesty of the nature surrounding her. Sensuous and inviting, her artworks invite viewers onto intimates voyages of discovery, seamlessly blurring boundaries between the seen and the unseen.
