González Camarena painted liberation differently. His figures strain outward, breaking free. Love as rupture, as the violent beauty of finally being unchained.
I couldn't choose between them. So I put both truths on the same canvas.
Klimt's couple embraces at the center. To their left, a figure still contained within themselves. To their right, González… Camarena's form reaches outward, all flesh and feeling. The gold leaf at the base isn't decoration — it's what falls away when love, in either form, changes you completely.
These are the two poles of love: the one that holds you, and the one that sets you free.

Alejandro Reyna is a Mexican muralist and painter with over 50 years of experience. A Master of Fine Arts from the National School of San Carlos, UNAM, his legacy can be seen in hospitals, airports, and government palaces throughout Mexico through 23 monumental murals.
He has conceived collections that inhabit their own conceptual universes: the human psyche and its emotions, pre-Hispanic mythology, the movement of the body, the tensions between opposites. His most celebrated work, "Aurum Nostrum," pays homage to the great masters of Western art, transmuting them into a profoundly contemporary language.
Academic realism with the soul of Magical Realism. Precise human figures inhabiting abstract and dreamlike spaces. His technique combines classical and contemporary styles, experimenting with gold, geometry, and color on a grand scale.
