About this artwork
Giambologna carved three bodies into a single spiral of marble — rising, twisting, reaching — and created what many consider the ultimate demonstration of sculptural mastery. Pure form. No narrative intended.
Rapto en Abstracto asks what happens when you set that form free. The figures emerge from the bottom of the canvas exactly as Bologna carved them — muscular, precise, charged with tension. But as they rise, the world fragments. Geometric planes… of deep blue, burning orange, sharp gray close in around them. By the time the woman's hands reach the top, she has dissolved into pure line and feeling.
The body at the bottom is stone. The gesture at the top is freedom.

Alejandro Reyna is a Mexican muralist and painter with over 50 years of experience. A Master of Fine Arts from the National School of San Carlos, UNAM, his legacy can be seen in hospitals, airports, and government palaces throughout Mexico through 23 monumental murals.
He has conceived collections that inhabit their own conceptual universes: the human psyche and its emotions, pre-Hispanic mythology, the movement of the body, the tensions between opposites. His most celebrated work, "Aurum Nostrum," pays homage to the great masters of Western art, transmuting them into a profoundly contemporary language.
Academic realism with the soul of Magical Realism. Precise human figures inhabiting abstract and dreamlike spaces. His technique combines classical and contemporary styles, experimenting with gold, geometry, and color on a grand scale. His works convey wonder and reflection, inviting an emotional and universal experience that reconciles the ancestral with the modern.
