About this artwork
Variation on an existing work
When one of my works is unavailable, it is possible to create a variation. This process does not consist of reproducing the original, but of revisiting its spirit, forms, and colors, in order to give birth to a new work.
Each variation is designed to preserve the soul and energy of the original work.
The result is a unique piece, which engages in dialogue with the original while bringing its own identity and unique… universe.

Aliénor de Cellès is an award-winning painter and draftsman based in France whose work has been widely exhibited nationally, as well as in Japan. She describes her artistic expression as centered on the face. De Cellès’ figurative compositions “unveil false pretenses, dressing bodies to better undress their souls.” Her engaging pieces are created using oils, ink, and gouache on canvas, paper, or wood.
