About this artwork
In Due Profetti, Benetti constructs an enigmatic and evocative visual narrative, using a symbolic language that has its roots in the archetypal, the primordial. The work unfolds on a low-relief plaster surface, animated by an organic flow of shapes and marked lines that seem to establish invisible connections, paths and relationships. The two central figures, surrounded by circular structures reminiscent of ancient ritual discs, seem to communicate… with each other through segments and symbols, like two entities of wisdom immersed in a silent dialogue. The chromatic range is sober and harmoniously distributed, with pastel tones that soften the strength of the sign and give the whole a meditative aura. Benetti invites the observer to a layered reading, where apparent abstraction becomes a pretext to reflect on ancestral knowledge, on the transmission of knowledge, on the invisible intertwining that binds human beings to the mystery of time and the universe.
« The painting of the future was born in caves, since art has always been the most fascinating medium with which matter depicts the spirit. »
